Fully murky, black beer with timid carbonation creates a tawny, almost yellow head that grows wellnigh two fingers tall. Long retention keeps the dense lacing alive although it dissipates gradually downwards. The nose picks first roasted aromas only. [This may be too cold so I let it warm up a bit.] Okay, I start to receive also faint licorice, raw cacao powder and sugared cold-brew coffee. The tastebuds enjoy the hefty flavors of dark chocolate, cacao nibs, roasted dark malt and a smaller injection of licorice. The interesting piece is that I find also a suggestion of sweet mandarin pulp. I can also spot a warming sensation in the mouth as if chili. I had to check the label but I can't find information on chili here. Obviously it's not there. Maybe it's alcohol that warms my throat nicely — this clocks at 10.5 % anyway. The body should be rated as full. It's not enormous but big enough to be classified as full. The finish intensifies the sweet flavors like chocolate. Also the alcohol raises its head further higher but still remains at a reasonable level. The aftertaste has no clothes but everybody is too petrified to shout it out. The mouthfeel is full, intense, lip-glueing and warming. It's modestly roasty and substantially smooth. Solid but remains marginally behind the Enigma & Nelson Sauvin hopped edition (this beer's hop profile is not available).

Tuoksussa kahvia, tummaa suklaata ja yllättävän paljon greipinkuorta ja havuisuutta. Melko täyteläinen suutuntuma. Kahvinen ensipuraisu. Lakritsia ja kitkerää tummaa suklaata. Aika reippaasti humalointia, melkein voisi luulla Black IPAksi. Aivan jees, mutta ehkä vähän ronskisti humaloitu omaan makuun. Edit: viivakoodi vie 9.1% versioon, tämä on 10.5%.

10,5% versio. Mustaa. Beige vaahto. Tuoksu paahteinen. Maku kuiva greippinen, kahvinen, paahteinen ja suklainen. (BB17/2/23) Hyvä olut.

Tumma pikkumusta puolalainen.

Alko webstore still had couple bottles of this Polish baltic porter, so I figured I'd give it a try. Best before is 26/10/19 so thanks to Alko for aging this. Scent is quite sweet, offering syrupy bread, bitter grapefruity hops and plenty of roastiness. Taste has burnt, dark bread and licorice on a heavy tone. It's quite sweet and sticky-ish but in a dry way. Roasty, heavy on malty flavour. Bit liquor-like deepness in flavours. Aftertaste is a tad bitter. Mouthfeel is much thicker than usually in beers of this abv. It's a nice surprise. It's also smooth, but quite drying. Phew, this is quite a heavy beer indeed. Perhaps too bitter and bready for my liking. Taste is still quite sharpish, though I'm sure it has settled down from being fresh. Ah screw it, I wanted to dislike the bitterness but it actually tones down when warming up. Now it's almost gone and this beer is super tasty. Mouthfeel is too good to be resisted.
