Appearance: The pour reveals a deep, black beer with a thick, creamy tan head. Aroma: As you bring the glass to your nose, the rich and inviting aroma of freshly brewed coffee immediately hits you, followed by subtle hints of dark chocolate and roasted malt. The sherry aging introduces a complexity with notes of dried fruits, particularly raisins and figs, and a slight nuttiness. Mouthfeel: The beer's texture is luxurious, with a full-bodied and quite smooth mouthfeel. The carbonation is moderate, providing a good balance. Also some alcohol. Flavor: It starts with a bold coffee presence, intertwined with roasted malt bitterness. The sherry cask aging adds layers of complexity, bringing forth flavors of dark fruits, oak, and a touch of sweetness. There’s a subtle warmth from the alcohol, which is well-integrated and complements the stout’s robust character. As you savor each sip, you might also detect nuances of caramel, vanilla, and a hint of spice. Finish: The finish is long and satisfying, with a pleasant lingering bitterness from the coffee and roasted malts, balanced by the sherry's sweet and fruity undertones. The aftertaste leaves you with a gentle warmth.

All the notes you'd expect in a stout, but more intense. A very slight sourness? Reminds me of licorice, that sourness. Wood. Like, a straight up piece of barrel and not barrel spice or something. Overall quite good, but I expected more.

Vahva kahvin maku, leikkaa Sherryn makua. Oluen vahvuus (16%) maistuu kyllä, mutta ei liikaa..

Time for celebration! Today's main course is dedicated for two special occasions. First: today is my daughter's second birthday ❤️ and second: I've finally finished my studies 👨‍🎓 For 2 wonderful years, my lovely daughter has made my days better and now my 12 years of searching for a degree has ended. I am very happy and relieved. 0,33l bottle from fake Teku glass. Dark brown, almost black beer pours into the glass. Looks thick and leaves a brown foam on top of the beer. Delicious fumes of coffee, sherry and chocolate arise from the glass. Some berry and burnt sugar notes can be found. Mouthfeel is lusciously thick and oily. Perfect. Delicious flavors fill your mouth on the first sip. Sweet chocolate, boozy sherry, burnt sugar and tender wood. A lot of coffee and bitter dark chocolate powder. Faint smoky vibe and a tad of earth. Sherry is quite strong, but not overwhelming. Sweet chocolate carries the drier flavors and keeps the overall taste pretty balanced. Ends with massive sweet chocolate and coffee, accompanied by bitter dark cocoa powder and boozy sherry. Very good. Balanced and delicious. Maybe some even more intense flavors could ascend this to the 4,5 star club. Goes perfectly for the occasion.
