Collaboration between Steel & Oak from New Westminster, BC Canada and Freigeist Bierkultur from Stolberg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Initially meant to be a gose, they settled on a steinbier, perhaps the first produced in BC.

Steel & Oak is the King and Ambassador of lagers in British Columbia, making a much maligned style in this province cool again. The only beers I have had from Freigeist have been goses, but they have all been outstanding. So seeing a collaboration between these two breweries makes me happy.
This is a really good malty and (not sickly) sweet lager. It's a limited release so British Columbians ought to scoop it up, dig out a stein and enjoy.
