And for the nightcap, something from the Wild Ale masters of 🇨🇭. À Tue-Tête! has almost always proved to be phenomenal. This is a mixed fermentation Wild Ale with blackcurrant, vintage 2020. I get caught surprised as early as I see the beer: opaque, very deep dark brown, like Coca-Cola. Carbonation is introvert but unlocks a cream-colored head that falls short of one finger. Soon a ring only adorns the top. Blackcurrant, blackberry, twig, brettanomyces and wheat malt climb to my nose. Maybe even blueberry among those parameters. Funky times ahead! The gustatory segment is... something!! Sourness to the power of ten! Puckers my senses up to the limit where it's hard to analyze the flavors in the first place. I'll try anyway... I pick massive sour blackcurrant and blackberry, not sure about blueberry anymore. Probably not. Wheat malt for sure. And bags of brettanomyces. Supersour indeed!! 💜🖤 The body is medium. So so. The finish is still quite sour, yes, blackcurrant and blackberry and the other flavors, too. Fairly rapid appearance by the aftertaste, then bye. The mouthfeel is medium-full, extremely tart, acidic and seriously puckering. It's wild and slightly funky, but not Belgiany though. Juicy and demanding.
