A lot of aroma from glass during the pour. Modest head, dies down quickly. Aroma, strong, lots of alcohol, fall spice in abundance. First sip gives a very smooth and soft texture. Now comes the flavor. A flavorful blast hits the tongue. Fall spice, a distinctive bourbon oak barrel alcohol, with a minuscule milk chocolate far in the background acting as a binder. Extremely well balanced as it smoothly travels into the finish. Once there, the beginnings of a raisin emerges and the crispness of the oak barrel comes to the surface. As this is a duo with Ryan, he immediately felt this was a 5.0. I was hesitant because of the finish, which, while cold, I felt was harsh. As this imperial Stout warmed to its appropriate serving temperature, the finish turned excellent. I love that Saint Arnold has continued to develop a yearly addition of their famous Pumpkinator. This may be one of my favorites and deserves the 5.0.
