All hail the new King, King Conka!
Pouring oil slick black with rich aromas of coconut, chocolate and fragrant tonka beans, this King is big enough to take on any Titan.
A melody of roasted malts, desiccated coconut and tonka beans create layers of complex flavour in the most opulent 10% imperial stout we have created to date.
Taking the premium first parts of two separate mashes to get thick, decadent sugars, the finished beer spent weeks conditioning on heaps of coconut & Tonka Beans for flavour befitting of any king.

Tonka beans are new to me but apparently they are from South America and are so potent that shavings from one bean could season 80 dishes. It's used in desserts and drinks and is very popular in France.
Along with coconut and imperial level stout malts...I expect this to be huge.
Clearly in the same vain as the brilliant Stoutzilla, in design and approach of using exquisite adjuncts.
Jet black and 100% opaque, though if you study if closely you can see a few streams of bubbles. There is no head left behind other than the thinnest ring around the edge. The aroma is very interesting and flags up richness this brew contains. A sweet vanilla is prevalent via the Tonka, but also the coconut scent is huge and with the chocolate of stout it brings to mind a Bounty bar but only for a moment really because the spicy tonka bean thing is a big difference!
It's silky smooth in mouth like thick syrup and treacle. The taste is smoother and softer than on the nose but still big. Decadent chocolate base with a deep dark treacle and below that the dark malts you'd expect but these malts are very subdued compared with a traditional imperial stout. The adjuncts/focus of this brew overlaps the classic malts, though they are still there as a foundation. The carbonation is very gentle which matches this beers vibe.
I'm pleased the flavour in mouth is less obnoxious as the aroma. If it was on par then it would tip this brew into OTT territory for me as this stout is hugely rich. It is like drinking a dessert from a restaurant..and when I say that don't think of other stouts that say dessert on the can because 9/10 those are awful. Unbarred love their adjuncts but they are always quality.
This beer is one of the smoothest I've ever had but that doesn't make it easy drinking at all. Good chance you'll get a headache drinking this, especially when its 10% ABV and a full size can.
This is something really different, not a yeasty malty fest or a coffee and chocolate stout, and although I've had a choc and coconut stout before I'm sure, this one is unique.
