Something strange going on with this Duo beer from LaGrange Georgia. Websites say 12.5% while my can says 12%. Their own website says it's roasted peanuts but the can says peanut butter. Website says it's a stout then later calls it an imperial stout. Then things get weird.
You've heard the expression "pours like motor oil"? This one does. Extremely heavy just coming from the can. Bubbles have a hard time breaking the surface it so heavy and leaves a film coating when you swirl the glass so heavy it's like tinted windows. Strong alcohol aroma, smells like bourbon barrel but it wasn't aged in Bourbon barrels. Mouthfeel is like syrup, pretty strong alcohol. Extremely sweet with dark milk chocolate and roasted peanuts. Not peanut butter. Says salted chocolate, that seems to fit. Finish turns to burnt marshmallow. Syrup refuses to leave the tongue. Sweet boozy alcohol from first to last.
This beer is a challenge. Ryan and I normally agree on beers but not this time. He tastes one thing while I'm tasting something different. He hates it, I kind of like it. Perhaps his can went bad or my taste buds have finally died.
