We've taken our award-winning flagship pale Joosy and gone BIG!
Dripping with overripe sticky stone fruit, lemon zest & sweet tangerine this DIPA is bursting with flavour from the overly abundant use of Simcoe & Amarillo hops. It's intense, as you'd expect with a lingering and notable pithy grapefruit flavour, synonymous with our beloved Joosy.

Very deep amber colour and opaque with some head retention even after ten+ minutes.
Sweet stone fruit on the nose with some orangey citrus. Sharp grapefruit and tangerine, orange peel above rich peach, apricot and mango.
Smooth and soft in the mouth via decent oat amountage! Tangy and juicy but there is a strong alcohol flavour on the finish, which is disappointing for 8% ABV. Said finish is also warm and long with some citrus tang. The stone fruits are very soft to the point of being particularly subdued, especially compared to the nose. Perhaps I let it sit in the glass too long and it got too warm or let it breathe too much. I suspect it's a lack of enough hops to match the ABV increase.
This beers strong suit is the smoothness/thickness and it is still juicy like it's original version, but the finish kills it. That said, you do get used to it and it's not an issue unique to this beer, other DIPAs are the same. As you do get used to it the tang stands out more as a nice grapefruit and the prior stone fruits do emerge a bit more, with peach and apricot and a suggestion of orange peel. The clash of stone fruit and citrus is nice, and this juxtaposition is balanced but I can't help but feel like the original joosy is nicer even though it's more watery.
The increase in mouthfeel is appreciated, the absence of sufficiently increased flavour is not. Further time in the glass/getting used to this brew does serve dividends but yeh, disappointing really.
