Very pale and very hazy is this collaboration between Sureshot and Nothing Bound, the latter of which I don't know of. Bright and fresh on the nose with citrus, tropical and stone fruit. Soft mouthfeel and light with a modest finish. Sweetness is quite high and the finish is only lightly herbal at this stage. Flavours of peach, passion fruit, mango, pineapple, lemon juice, satsuma and pine. This brew is drinkable and light considering the 6.5% ABV. I've been previously impressed by Sureshot and this brew is also good. Hops express themselves more explicitly later on, Idaho 7, Mosaic and Citra to be exact. A decent modern yet classic line-up. To me it tastes like Citra and Idaho 7 take the lead over Mosaic. Mango sweetened by peach, with the pineapple note being sharpened by passion fruit, satsuma and lemon. This is a good beer to drink cold, at least as you crack it open, as it's a brew that opens up but also increases in complexity and confusion. Maybe it's a bit harsh to suggest muddy waters in this beer, but there is contradictive elements. Whilst remaining light and bright throughout, it gets deeper and richer without getting bigger in heft. Drinkability drops only slightly, so you can still gulp it at ambient temps. I'd go so far as to say it's almost washed out like a pale ale, unbecoming of a DDH IPA! But the bright hoppiness and sharp citrus prevents it truly being watery. It tastes like there was some Nelson Sauvin in the brew because of the bright nature and suggestion of gooseberry but instead of white grape it's more akin to lemon drop hops via the citrus side. Citra alone can't produce this portrayal so I'd say it's expect use of Mosaic to make this happen. But who knows, I'm guessing!
