3.9
This is supposed to be a hoppy barleywine. It really tastes like a WCIPA.
Has a medium malt backbone that is caramel/toffee and very sweet. Hoppy side, which is strong, has some citrus that is mainly orange with light grapefruit. Then add in some light+ pine.
Overall it is one of the better WC IPA style beers I’ve had in a while. Has a strong sweet & bitter flavor combo going on. The problem is I was expecting a barleywine.
I’m rating a 3.9. If it was an IPA it would be a 4.2 easy. I don’t like that they sucked me in looking one way but satisfying me in another way. It was damn good tho.
