Birthday Impy Stout Brewed as part of BBNo’s birthday celebrations and one of two Impy stouts they are releasing! This time it’s a Coconut & Vanilla version, brewed with four separate mashes to allow the malts all to blend together.

The ying to the yang I had few weeks ago. The second imperial by BBNo to celebrate their birthday, the last one was praline, this time is coconut and vanilla. A head slowly forms after a fast pour, settling like Guinness but soon after said head pops into oblivion. There's floating white bits amounts the chocolate brown beer. I hope I didn't freeze this in the garage and ruined it, or it could be the adjuncts, namely vanilla. It smells nice and actually rather light for a Imperial, it's like a baby Stoutzilla or a baby Bueno shake. It's a sweet and roasty mix on the nose no ridiculous marmite yeast, which is good! Thought there is a hint of summut ruby, probably it's unadulterated stout undertone/backbone. Thick and silky smooth in the mouth like a cream liqueur. Yeast arises on the tongue in combination with the malts and roasted barley. It's easy on the coconut, unlike the praline one, but it's quite heavy on the vanilla, which is to it's benefit. Its almost creamy, chocolately indeed with fair amount of treacle, dark and persistent that'll stay with you long after you swallow. It's a pleasure to drink, especially now the floaty bits have gone! It requires earnest settling time. But yeah, it's a proper imperial and easy to drink, it doesn't challenge your perceptions.
