Haa, this beer is interesting! And funny! It's our own homebrew. We brewed something like 25 bottles, and this is the last one. It's about half a year old now. The thing is that I hadn't realized that I never reviewed it here! I almost missed the whole thing but fortunately I found the very last bottle among other beers. 😅
Oh yes. The beer colors lucid, deep copper with a visible red reflection. Carbonation is still alive although somewhat tired. A velvety head grows mere half a finger tall. A neat lace ring wafts pretty long on the top.
Raspberry is obvious in the scent. It's juicy and surprisingly fresh. And that's it. Nothing else is there.
The taste offers bags of raspberry, some wheat malt and a bit of lactic acid. The basic elements are there. Interesting as I wasn't sure how time had treated the beer and especially the sourness. And indeed the sourness is decent but restrained. Time has probably not done much to this since I remember that this beer never proved really sour. Or even sour enough to my taste. Rather something like a hybrid of a Fruited Sour Ale and a Fruit Beer.
The body is light. The sourness elevates modestly in the finish with raspberry still being the dominant flavor. Program the aftertaste it can into mindless drones, it's time to kill the noise, it doesn't want to be a clone.
The mouthfeel is juicy, lip-glueing, only marginally tart and slightly flat. This is okay but certainly not a winner. Not when fresh, not now. Noting that this is half a year old and I can't go back in time and assess a fresher sample, this is wanting.
