This Blonde is blond, gold and limpid. The carbonation is slightly extroverted but behaves well. A velvety, pure white head exceeds two fingers and dissolves gradually to a still impressive lace ring and thick lacing. The retention is long. Astonishingly long. The scent is typical Belgian, on one hand, but unappealing, on the other. The Blonde side offers sweet malt, biscuit, Belgian yeast and a whisper of inverted syrup. The negative side gives odd perfumy and soapy aromas. Unfortunately, the latter ones win. The tongue receives malty flavors that are relatively bitter and dry-grassy. Even piney. No sign of anything sweet-leaning. Nor soapy or perfumy elements. That's good! The body is light. The ABV clocks 6.2 %, it could merit more but even this is okay. The finish is identical to upfront. Feels light, dry, a tad crisp, slightly tangy and piney. Not necessarily the most seductive example of the style but I'm more than happy that the soapy and perfumy signals were mere warnings without any real threat.
