Tuoksussa vaniljaa ja viitteitä kahvista. Maku on vaniljalla maustettua espressoa. Rapeahko humalointi, mutta juoman luonteeseen nähden sopivalla tasolla. Täyteläisyyttä riittää, varsinainen suutuntuma jää kuitenkin <medium asteelle.

There wasn’t a lot of vanilla coming through and having never tasted other examples of Smoldering Holes I have nothing to compare it against. That being said, it’s a wonderful beer and the first imperial stout that my wife has actually said she liked. Winner! Served slightly cool it has a dry finish and being on the thin side for such a big beer, it makes for easy drinking, if you could ever say that about an 11,8% stout! It’s still got masses of body just not overly so. Taste wise it’s got everything. Coffee, dark chocolate, raisins and molasses. Roast malt notes are there as are notes of vanilla but it’s the other flavours that dominate. A fantastic imperial stout.
