Turbid, deep brown beer with capped carbonation gives rise to a latte-hued, velvety lacing that spreads all over the surface up to half a finger. The withdrawing lace ring sustains on the sidelines for a long time. Soaked red wine barrel is the first puncher in the air. Not exceptionally powerful though. Purple grape is obvious, followed by a tiny amendment of cherry. Further down the road, a pinch of sour plum, unexpected vanilla and a whisper of leather join the olfactory show. Sour cherry is appealing on the tongue. The yeast culture contains obviously brettanomyces. 🤎💜 Sour plum and plum peel whirl around the cherry punch. The wine barrel stuff is interesting in that the soaked barrel is more prominent than the red wine that seems to be quite mature though. At least it's round. Fermented purple grape, even a suggestion of raisin, apple and faint vanilla seal the deal. Thumbs up! 👍🏻 The body is medium to medium-full. The finish puts forward especially sour cherry, raisin, plum and oak. Red wine isn't invisible either. The aftertaste goes to the Château Marmont and dances in the hotel room. The mouthfeel is medium-full, vinous, barrel aged, moderately funky (only), tart and puckering. Not actually Belgiany in my opinion. Furthermore, it's mature, soft, balanced, smooth and surprisingly round. Attractive #summerbeer22.
