Solidarity beer #13 πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦ Murky, brilliant black beer with introvert carbonation creates a beige, air-filled head that falls short of two fingers. Retention is short to medium duration as the lacing contracts to a thin ring on the surface. The fragrance portrays raw chocolate, raw cacao powder, smoked plum and a suggestion of raisin. The smoked plum is moderate but very interesting as I may have actually never picked it in a beer before this. The flavor identity is slightly smoky but unfortunately quite thin to the ABV: I can observe smoked malt that is a tad bitter, raw cacao powder, dark plum peel, some bitter coffee and a pinch of grass. The body is light-medium. It's absolutely the minimum provided this clocks at 8.2 %. The finish twists even more coffeeish with lingering bitterness. Raw cacao is certainly present. So is the smoky component. The end lasts nicely for a long time like a wisp of smoke on a bonfire. The mouthfeel is relatively light, smoky, distantly tangy and marginally warming. Reasonable but rather one-dimensional though.
