A nitro stout that requires a hard and fast pour with the can totally vertical, but even doing this leaves very minimal head. Vanilla and cocoa on the nose that's quite rich smelling.
Initially it's very light in the mouth followed by a building body and quite long finish. A lack of sweetness prevents this tasting like a milk stout, instead it is roasty and chocolatey. I've had stouts with much bigger and darker roasted malts/barley but those were brews with much higher ABV. It's silky smooth with concealed carbonation which will be the nitro element. The flavours persist throughout and as such leave a pleasant after taste, like a Guinness X2. I'd like more roasted malts in this but to be fair it's got alot of depth and flavour considering its low ABV and this was Cloudwater's aim behind the brew.
Chocolatey, plenty of vanilla and decently rich but still it is slightly watery. I'd imagine this would be nicer and thicker from a keg but as a one-off brew I don't think that will be happening. It would be unfair to compare this to Stoutzilla or Goatsmoker but I can't forget them and so comparisons are made!
