Finally getting to have another Duo beer with the son-in-law. Covid took him out of action for a while so tonight is a big deal for us. This thing poured as black as midnight. Really dark brown head but it didn't last. Seems heavy in the glass. Aroma gives it banana notes along with some sweetness. First sip confirms the heavy and thick texture. Strong flavor that is a heavy sweet malt, gently roasted, with banana present but not dominant. Some bread characteristics blend with the banana. I was surprised when the finish arrived and an unmistakable walnut appeared. Even while sweet, the nutty bitterness came through. This is a good beer, really enjoyed it. Reminds me much more of banana nut bread than muffin, doesn't have that crusty characteristic that muffins have. Would have liked the banana to be a touch stronger. Worthy of a good score.
