Platinum jubilee ale
5.0% Golden Ale / Blond Ale
Brewed by Elgood's for Marks & Spencer. This refreshing Golden Ale is a great match for light summery dishes like chicken or fish, and would be perfect at a barbecue. Elgoods Brewery, in the heart of the Cambridgeshire Fens, has been in the Elgoods family since 1878. To make this special celebratory beer, we’ve used fittingly special ingredients; pale ale malt organically grown in the UK’s finest barley growing area of North Norfolk and classic English Sovereign hops from Herefordshire for a truly regal blend.

Pours a dark golden colour with a head that lingers. Refreshing, light and slightly malty. Enjoyed this, but nothing spectacular. Bonus points for being on offer!! £1.50 at M&S

Slightly caramel in flavour but nothing special and quite gaseous. It’s ok but nothing special for such an occasion.

Got to say, despite reading some mixed reviews on this beer, it wasn’t that bad. A refreshing golden ale with a pale ale malt flavour. A great match for some Coronation Chicken this evening . Some might disagree, but this isn’t a bad beer to honour Her Majesty. 🇬🇧 👑

Oh dear what a disappointment. Had a chemical flavour that tasted like washing up liquid. Give it a miss. M&S just relabelled as Coronation ale beware.

Chilled this little beauty. Not disappointed. I’m not a massive IPA fan so this old school golden ale is a big scorer with me. Smooth tasting. Love it.
