Happy Saison Day! Yes, such a day indeed exists. Of course. The exact date varies in April. This year it falls on the 17th. Therefore, a Saison. Looks relatively hazy straw. Seriously frothy. The foam fills the entire glass but descends sluggishly, unmasking the liquid step by step. But the head is massive in any case. White soapy. Leaves messy traces on the glass. Just be patient. A still thick cap covers the beer, difficult to capture the fragrance. I think I can spot citrusy notes, not sour though. Lemon zest and peel. And, of course, a good load of wheat malt. A herbal hint lingers in the air, too. The gustatory sphere surprises me: this is flavorful! Orange peel, indeed. Apricot, lemon zest, maybe also a suggestion of pith, and soft wheat malt. A bit sugary though, makes it certainly less challenging but not necessarily to my best liking. The body is light. End unchanged. A slightly sweet undertone. Keeps my tastebuds active for a good while. Feels light, soft, smooth, faintly herbal although I can't actually identify any herb in the taste. And ridiculously effervescent but manageable when settled down.
