A Modern Throwback. Back in ’86, Harpoon was founded on the belief that good times could become great with better beer. First brewed by our founders and dubbed “Rich and Dan’s Rye IPA,” the original release of this hoppy Rye Ale was meant to celebrate that spirit. Years later—and with some modern modifications—a new generation now gets to enjoy it. From the lift to the lodge to just some backyard sledding, let the good times become great— cheers!

I love a good rye IPA. This is not quite there. It is citrusy, orange & lemon, with light pine mainly with some very light earthy rye that has a hint of spice.
This was supposed to be based on an old recipe but they modernized it. Should have stuck to the original. It is very weak as a rye IPA.
I love a good old school spicy rye IPA that is malty and hoppy. Reds Rye from Founders was always one of my favorites. I guess they don’t really make them like that anymore.
