Very nice indeed. Just like the old fashioned porter used to taste. Strong though...

Definitely a grower, took a while to warm to this beer. It comes through good but took a while to get going.
Earthiness dominates the palate at first, even after letting the can sit an hour at room temp. Dark chocolate bitterness, liquorice and dark rye bread come through eventually. There’s big hop character too, slightly vegetal definitely dank and piney and a lasting bitterness that compliments the malt.
Any less malt character and this would be in Cascadian Dark Ale territory, especially with the hop selection.
