Bought this in the height of the summer whilst in Latvia in the middle of a heatwave. A Christmas beer from a brewery I don’t see often in the UK, available in summer, I had to buy it! Well it’s bloody good! It’s a straight up imperial strength Baltic Porter alright. Fantastic malt character in both flavour and aroma. Smells like dark chocolate with a hint of spice. Taste is a cacophony of flavours! Smooth dark chocolate, winter berries, liquorice, lots of toasted rye bread. It’s oily thick and has big presence. Leave it in the mouth and your palate is in overdrive. The tongue picks out the roasty astringency and the rye spice easily enough leaving a long lasting aftertaste. Great beer!

Tuoksussa paahteisuutta ja luumua. Maku on runsaan paahteinen, tumma hedelmäinen ja suklainen. Jälkimaussa lakritsa/salmiakki liittyy mukaan ja sitten taas palataan paahteisuuden ja suklaan pariin. Suutuntuma paksu ja täyteläinen. 2022 vintagesta en löytänyt muuta merkintää, kuin tuon 11 %:n vihjeen. Oli vintegea tai ei, mutta mielettömän hyvää. Tänään oli tarkoitus olla Pinta päivä, toivottavasti en aloittanut parhaasta😅

After sauna nightcap. Pours opaque, jet black. Looks like crude oil. Carbonation is relatively timid. The emerging rusty tan head falls short of half a finger's height and dissipates hastily to zero. Vanilla is powerful in the scent. Dark chocolate and cacao nibs come to join the dance. The olfactory sensation gives also fruity Bourbon, dark plum, sweet licorice root, mudcake and a pinch of black cherry. Many of the same components can also be identified in the taste but the order of strength varies: first, I find dark chocolate ganache. Cacao nibs come close to its heels. Bourbon is still astonishingly fruity, releasing especially dark plum, cherry, vanilla and a whisper of oven baked pear. Sweet licorice root and a coffeeish vibe complete the enjoyment. Neatly sequenced. Mmmmyeah! 🖤🖤 The full-bodied beer ends with raw chocolate, licorice, hefty Bourbon, oakwood and barrel aromas. The sweetness declines somewhat at this stage. The aftertaste keeps the tastebuds active for quite a long time. The mouthfeel is full, rather thick, alcoholic, barrel aged and warming. It's also lip-glueing, deep, rich, a bit layered as well as still quite gentle. Excellent slow sipper for the dark night.

Kuohkea 1 sormen paksuinen lähes heti häviävä ruskea vaahto. Musta läpinäkymätön, täyttävä ja lämmittävä olut. Turpeessa savustetun maltaan makua, lakritsia ja hieman jopa salmiakkia maussa. Onnistunut tuote Pintalta. Kahvia, lakritsinen, paahdettu leipä, pähkinäinen ja suklainen.

Mustaa. Vaaleanruskea vaahto. Tuoksu paahteinen, suklainen ja salmiakkinen. Maku pehmeä salmiakkinen. Kahvia, suklaata, lakritsaa ja maapähkinää(BB11/1/24) Miellyttävä olut.

Tuoksussa tummaa suklaata, salmiakkia ja kahvia. Melko täyteläinen suutuntuma. Suklainen ensipuraisu. Salmiakkia ja lakritsinjuurta. Suolaista toffeeta ja kahvia. Hieman kitkeryyttä ja puisuutta lopussa. Oikein hyvää, varsinkin ottaen huiman 2€ hinnan huomioon.
