Breakfast Ante Meridiem is our big and bold Imperial Brown Ale. We breakfast-ified it by aging it in Bissell Maple Farm bourbon barrels. Next, we added maple syrup (yes, you read that correctly), and Batdorf & Bronson coffee and Ugandan vanilla beans.

Back at Monday Night Brewing to try another one of their excellent stouts. Evan was very helpful and suggested I try this Imperial Brown Ale. I'll enjoy this one on tap of course.
Opaque brown color, very little head served in this glass. Aroma of maple and bourbon, a little sweet. Sweet, maple and chocolate (not in their product description), vanilla, with some oak bourbon barrel coming across towards the end. Finish ads a mild alcohol burn combined with the previous maple and vanilla but finally trails off with my first indication of a gentle coffee.
This 13.5% alcohol is well hidden, feels much more like 8.5 or 9, so be careful. On a blind taste test, I would have been positive this was an imperial stout instead of a brown ale. The name brand coffee they are so proud of was not a factor at all. Disappointed in that and gets a small deduction. Still, overall, really enjoyed the beer.
