DRY JANUARY, day #32. This is most likely my last non-alc beer/drink during Dry January 2022. I will certainly enjoy nonalcoholic beers also in the future as part of my regular portfolio but the Dry January will end tomorrow for my part.
One more Kombucha, flavored with rosehips and petals. Sounds floral 🌹 Looks like I will remain missing an unflavored Kombucha but maybe in the future...
Gulped straight from the bottle. No idea what the drink looks like.
The nose picks interesting aromas: obviously some lactic acid, a subdued cheesy nuance, a pinch of brown sugar and maybe also something floral. The floral note is definitely not that of rose but rather a blurred cocktail of garden fragrances in a warm summer evening. Not bad overall.
The taste is quite intriguing: this is the first flavored Kombucha that escapes from being like sweet juice. I like it! I'm getting very watery berry juice with at least redcurrant, a bit of lactic acid, moderate green tea and a twist of floral extract that I would associate with hibiscus. However, now that I know that this drink contains rosehip, I'm at least imaging a whisper of rosehip puree among the gustatory components. The finish is a bit drying and caresses the tastebuds for long.
The mouthfeel is light, only modestly juicy, slightly floral, fragrant and decently drying. These Kombuchas always claim that they contain superfood elements. It's not easy to believe because the Kombuchas that I have tasted have been quite sweet as if sugary. This one is different: it's not as sweet as the other ones. I can actually believe that this is healthy, at least healthier than soft drinks. Nice!! I will have to acquaint myself with other Vigo Kombuchas, as well.
