We chose ingredients that were undeniably refreshing: ginger and lemon. To amplify this thirst-quenching quality we chose a locally sourced yeast strain that produces a mild tartness to this finished beer. To soften that tartness and add a touch of electrolytes, we included a small amount of pink Himalayan sea salt. Refreshingly session-able, Breaking Away is the perfect post-ride quencher.

This beer was inspired by the cycling movie "Breaking Away". They added electrolytes and Himalayan sea salt along with ginger and lemon. I'm expecting this to be Gatorade. Fast effervescence like a cola. Went away fast. Light yellow color with a modest lemon aroma. Very light and crisp texture. Mouthfeel brings minuscule effervescent, lemon is a little stronger than the ginger, both are apparent. By the finish all flavor has disappeared. A refreshing brew, very drinkable. Goes down faster than a Lone Star beer on a hot summer day. Maybe not my favorite beer but I have to give them points for accomplishing exactly what they set out to do. Make a refreshing Gatorade type drink for beer lovers. Well done.
