Jelly King Plum Cherry, Canada
3.6
Foggy, ruby beer with suppressed carbonation lays a tiny-bubbled head that falls short of one finger. Brief retention moves fast to history and a hair-thin ring orbits on the surface. A bunch of minuscule particles swim in a donut-shaped form at mid-depth like Kuiper Belt. The scent offers sour plum and strawberry, escorted by distant blackberry and a silent sigh of caramel. Reserved, generally speaking. Plum and blackcurrant show sour faces to the tongue. Faint blackberry and a suggestion of sour cherry accompany the two chiefs. Maybe also a tiny injection of unsweetened redcurrant mash and dry grass can be observed. The body is light. The finish goes on the guided line obediently. The aftertaste jingles bells although Christmas is gone for this year. The mouthfeel is light, tart, puckering, juicy and a tad effervescent. The flavor profile is uncommon but enjoyable.
