If the internet is to be believed, Rolling Rock is apparently high in DMS. I tend to believe this claim. There is something in the taste here that is different and unusual. I would not describe it as explicitly offputting. In fact, the first tall boy I had while drinking uninvited on my Ciocias porch hit pretty good. I've since bought a rack for ~$20 at discounts to investigate further. The subsequent cans reveal a very light beer with the faintest bite imaginable. But on top of that taste is what I can only imagine is the taste of the DMS. It's almost like a salty or an umami taste in a beer that's otherwise pretty dry and thin. But it tastes artificial, like the salt equivalent to a fake sugar. Not bready at all. 4.4% abv only. It's definitely drinkable, but not what I would probably grab for. Some history of heavy marketing, I guess, and then bought out by AB and is brewed in New Jersey. Who wants to drink New Jersey water?
