Back in Houston at my daughter and son-in-law's house for my grandson's birthday. Got a lot of Texas beer waiting on me. This one looks extremely interesting, has a fabulous bottle.
High and frothy head, staying a long time. Aroma is an unexpected citrus, probably from the hops. First impression is a powerful bitter mouthfull, crisp and thin textured. Not what I like. Then instantly mellows down. Bitterness begins to subside. Turns slightly creamy, a little sweet, earthy, roasted malt. By the time I get to the finish, the bitter flavor disappears completely leaving only faint notes of pine and a totally clean palate.
I normally don't like bitter beers but I have never had anything like this. Unique. Will want to drink this again.
