A Duo beer I found from Savannah Georgia. German phrase for "Devil Dogs".
Modest head, beautiful color. Crystal clear, deep reddish orange, pure amber. Fragrant aroma relays bread, amber malt, sweet flowers. Texture, while smooth, is on the heavy side. Most Oktoberfests are much lighter. Flavor has a deep toasted amber malt. Very bready. A sweetness that comes from a honey that was produced from a flower environment. Not an orange blossom honey but one produced around wild honeysuckle. Carries this flavor smoothly into the finish where the only change is that it develops a small dryness.
Overall, I really enjoyed this beer. I love heavy flavorful brews. But this is more of an American bastardized Marzen Octoberfest. Good but much too heavy to drink all day.
