Semiclear, raisin brown beer with rich carbonation produces a creamy head of two fingers' height. Retention is fairly lengthy. The remaining layer is surprisingly soft and pillowy and really long-lasting. Dense lacings cling to the glass, too. Bread, graham cracker and nut are the first components to pick by the nose. The general idea is relatively malty but it doesn't neglect the hoppy side either. Amber Ale isn't my favorite genre, so the more I should learn about this style. And it smells promising. The malty punch is evident: strong brown malt and a tad multigrain bread with graham cracker and bitter caramel looming in the background. The hoppy segment grows on the tongue, it's grassy and citrusy with a nice drying element. The body is light-medium to medium. Maybe the frothiness increases the feeling of fullness here. Anyway, well done! The finish is the exact repetition of the malt–hop interplay that one can experience in the actual taste. Nice. When the aftertaste dies, will you put it under the earth, under the oak trees? The mouthfeel is medium, soft, smooth, still a bit crisp and slightly tart. Very quaffable, and as a matter of fact, also satiating. NOTE: The barcode gives the same beer as a hopped version. Not sure if they are two different beers in the first place anyway.

Takana LOT 009. Hiekanvärinen vaahto. Lähes kirkas pronssinvärinen juoma. Napakan katkera. Sitruunaisuutta.
