Saturday's last dance. Pours turbid, deep cinnamon brown. Carbonation is shy and retreats to the sidelines. A latte-hued, medium-bubbled lace ring emerges on the top and shrinks soon to a hair-thin version of it.
The nose spots caramel, toffee, prune, raisin and date, all in varying but recognizable proportions. I can also pick distant brownie and a silent sigh of nutmeg. A nice palette of nuances indeed.
The taste identity is appealing: prune, raisin, a pinch of chocolate, toffee and brownie. Alcohol fails to stay underground — no wonder as this measures 12.5 %. Caramel malt is abundant at the basement, and it's escorted by unexpectedly grassy hops. Not much complexity but still a reasonable variety of flavors to explore.
The body is medium to medium-full. The ABV would certainly merit a fuller sensation. The finish dwindles in intensity and width and carries bitter caramel malt, prune and tangy alcohol to the end. The aftertaste gambles and wins a bit here and there but not a jackpot though.
The mouthfeel is relatively soft, smooth, intense, slightly alcoholic and also a bit tangy. Rather lip-glueing but not particularly heavy though.
Maybe this also goes for a #summerbeer22.

Backlog.
0,33l bottle from stemmed glass. Best before 23.11.2023, probably bottled last year.
The label is nice and on a closer look, it seems that Santa has found his way to Vegas 😎🎅
Dirty brown and hazy beer. Off-white foam that disappeared quickly. Looks oily.
Sweet malty scent and this is easily recognizable as barley wine. Slightly boozy too.
Low carbonation. Mouthfeel is oily and thick.
The taste isn't nearly as sweet as the scent was. Wet barley, bitter burnt caramel and boozy alcohol. Dried apricots and plums. Notes of wood and tobacco. Dry hay and dusty yeast. Alcohol is noticeable, but in a pleasant way. The taste smoothens and rounds up nicely when closing room temperature, I started a bit too cold.
Ends with dry dark bread and bitter burnt caramel.
Enjoyable but nothing special. A bit dry for my taste. Lacks the final punch.

Samea, toffeenruskea. Pienet kellertävänruskeat vaahdot. Tuoksu viinitynnyriä. Maku kuiva, hapan viininen, kuivattuja hedelmiä ja runsaasti läpi puskeva alkoholi(BB23/21/23)
Juotava olut.
