'Pabo' originates from the tale of St Pabo, a 5th century king exiled to Anglesey and later aquiried sainthood. It's said he founded Llanbabo church, where he's thought to be buried there with his daughters.
The illustration is based on the shape of a crown carving on a 14th century grave slab inside the church. It shows a man wearing a crown and holding a sceptre, with the carved words 'Here lies Pabo Post Prydein' in Latin beside him.
