Sergeant Jimmy Barrel Condition Saison
7.7% Saison / Farmhouse Ale
As per the bottle: "Sergeant Jimmy was a donkey born in no man's land during the infamous WW1 Battle of the Somme, and named by the allied troops who rescued him. First bottled on 11/11/18, 100years after the end of WW1, we thought it fitting to name this unique Irish Whiskey Barrel conditioned Saison, brewed by some aspiring legendary donkeys, after a true legendary Donkey. 100% Bottle Conditioned, 100% Unique, 100% For You!"

A very nice beer. Another trip into the world of Saison. I do struggle with describing Saison, the flavour is sometimes complex so I say what I like here. There is a froth and carbonation that coats the mouth and the barrel aged flavour comes in. Quite smokey and slightly sweet. There is a dash of spice somewhere in there too. Best part of the beer is how refreshing it is for a beer that is above 7%. It's a bottle of beer that when you buy it that you buy one extra to store for a special occasion! And that is what I done 😊
