Rings of Splendor
12.3% Imperial Stout
Rings of Splendor is the blend Private Press has been waiting to assemble. This release is a spirited synthesis of 3 imperial stouts that were aged in Heaven Hill, Blantons, Basil Hayden, and Woodford Double Oak barrels, all without adjuncts. Rings of Splendor exhibits waves of toasted coconut, vanilla, and marshmallow on the palate. A rich baseline of French roast, dark-chocolate cherry cordials, and almond caramel rounds out this classic expression of barrel-aged stout.

Backlog. Tämän vuoden "the mökki" olut, lomalle säästelty. Nautittu auringonlaskua ja tyyntä järveä katsellessa laiturilla. Mustaa ja semi paksua nestettä. Näyttää heti melko tahmaiselta tavaralta. Komea beige vaahtokerros. Aivan loistava imppi! 😜

From Santa Cruz, CA, USA arrives Private Press Brewing. Producing only Barrel Aged beers, here’s a new brewery to me. Also, this brewery sells their beers only to their members. For what I know, their BA beers are so sought after that it makes all the sense. BEER: Rings of Splendor BREWERY: Private Press Brewing BEER STYLE: Imperial Stout (Bourbon BA) COUNTRY: USA ABV.: 12.3% COLOUR (EBC): Pitch Black (100.0) BITTERS (EBU/IBU): - AROMA: Soft and deep with Bourbon. Sweet vanilla, leafs, bushes wrapped into a solid maltbase. Red berries in the background. HEAD: Thick and firm. Deep dark reddish brown. Three finger tall. GREY’S VIEW Blend of 3 Imperial Stouts which were aged in Heaven Hill, Blantons, Basil Hayden & Woodford Double Oak Bourbon Barrels. Time to first sip. *nods* it’s lovely. Deep dark and strong one. I taste archipelago bread, dark grated chocolates, mildly roasted nuts, juicy red wine berries, dry and cut down truffels. And what else! It has depth to it. Mouthfeel is round and soaked in Bourbon *pun intented*. First and foremost it’s pleasant and well forged. Bubbles are tiny, semi soft and lively. The barrels, well, there’s plenty of them, but in no way this is boozy or too Bourbonic. Aftertaste is slow and long, as the winter in Finland. It just catches your whole attention with the slightly dry feel, deep Bourbons and simply just being once in a lifetime chance. *deep sigh* OTHER NOTES: Absolutely. It’s a quality piece. Masterfully blended and a true gospel of Bourbons. There’s so much to like here. It’s not as deep or giving as I have experienced with other this kind of beers, but absolute masterful piece anyway. Oh yeah, did I mention how it evolves in the glass yet? Well, maybe next time anyway. BOTTLED ??/?? TASTED 12/6/2021
