Continuing with my anti-IPA day I’m moving from the dark side to the brownish/Amber side. This is malty, as expected, with some toasted dark bread, caramel and brown sugar. Also has hints of dark fruit and a nuttiness to it. Not overly sweet like a lot of American doppelbocks are. Has just a touch of floral hops which probably is helping keep the sweetness down Overall a surprisingly good doppelbock by Two Roads. Definitely one of their better beers.
