Tripel Karmeliet is still brewed to an authentic beer recipe from 1679 originating in the former Carmelite monastery in Dendermonde. Written over 300 years ago, this recipe describes the use of three kinds of grain: wheat, oats and barley. Tripel Karmeliet is a very refined and complex golden-to-bronze brew with a fantastic creamy head. These characteristics derive not only from the grains used but also from restrained hopping with Styrians and the fruity nature of the house yeast ( banana and vanilla). Aroma has hints of vanilla mixed with citrus aromas. Tripel Karmeliet has not only the lightness and freshness of wheat, but also the creaminess of oats together with a spicy lemon, almost quinine dryness.

Je vais vous faire une confidence... et vous allez me prendre pour un con c’est sûr ! Vous voyez les mecs qui disent "il y a de la goyave et de la banane" quand ils font le beaujolais ? Ben j’ai senti la banane dans la triple karmeliet en canette. Peut-être que mon palais n'est plus apte à juger correctement les goûts, peut-être que le mettre qui s'occupait de l'embouteillage faisait sa pause casse croûte sur ce brassin et qu’il a fait tomber sa banane dans la cuve... je ne sais pas d'où ça vient, mais je lui ai trouvé un goût de banane. Sinon, elle remonte légèrement la moyenne de ce que j’ai goûté dernièrement parce que son taux d’alccol est de 8%. C’etait quand même un peu cher pour le ratio alcool/prix et la note reste basse. Où sont les maximators et megademon qui dépassent les 10% ??? Ce sont mes licornes du moment, si j’en trouve vous le saurez vite.
