Another new beer in Pint Please. Nightcap Canned on 12/2019, making this over a year old. Nice! Temperature: +9 C (poured too cold) Pretty, red-colored, and almost completely clear Barleywine. Creamy, off-white head with long life. The texture looks thick: 4,5/5 The nose has lots of "clean" fruity and almost cranberry jam aroma with sweet vanilla notes. An interesting combination and I'm not really sure if I like it that much. The fruitiness is just so overpowering I'm thinking it must be an off-aroma. Malty hues are mild, perhaps some caramel is there: 2/5 Mouthfeel is full and round with mild alcohol notes...this feels weird, too clean!? Like a mass-produced Barleywine. I'd like much more complexity and "craft": 3/5 The taste is a weird mixture of strong vanilla flavors and fruitiness/Red berries. Malty undertones, hint of oak, and some residual sweetness. Yeah, not at all what I imagine a Barleywine to be like: 8/15 I'm kind of mad that a Barleywine which should be an awesome complex beer style, tastes like this. Vanilla and berries and overly fruity... What the hell? I want malt and complexity, not this kind of shitπŸ˜‘πŸ€¨πŸ˜ŸπŸ˜€8/20 =25,5/50
