A typical but attractive golden straw colored, very clear beer that really does display nicely in the glass. Active carbonation is apparent but does not build much of a head. Instead it works at maintaining a nice thin, layer of tightly packed bubbles. I would love to see this catch some sunlight.
It has the aromatic properties that I like to find in a pilsner, moderate graininess that leans ever so gently toward fresh bread. Equally present but not overpowering is a nobel hop spiciness with just a whisper of herbal astringency.
As it rolls over the tongue it reveals, in order, the nice pale malt graininess that morphs into a balance with the hops. The hops slowly build toward a more forward spiciness that finishes the sip. The after taste is once again a nice balance of the two flavours. Body is light with a bit of residual sweetness filling out the mouth feel to a pleasant softness. Not a big beer but definitely leans to the more flavourful side of pilsners. Very nice indeed. Mild bitterness maintains a position throughout but doesnt linger.
