Meaty! Smokey cured bacon with sweet spice and vanilla aromas. More fizz than your typical Imperial stout, but not in a bad way - still rich and smooth, and for me about as far as you can push the alcohol before it stops being a 'beer'. Lots of dark treacle, and plenty of the bourbon barrel flavour coming through. I chased this up with a glass of Booker's cask-strength bourbon, which really drew out the subtleties in the beer.
