Christmas Advent Beer 2020 Day 25.1 This morning I didn’t even know this beer existed, and now some 20 odd hours later I’m drinking one of my best beers of 2020. I’m also lucky enough to be drinking it from an absolute gem of a glass too. Thank you Jamie K 👍😍🎅❤️🍺 This is my kind of beer, a straight up RIS elevated by time in a used barrel. Port barrels are only going to add one thing. Plummy jammy goodness! Bottled fresh from the barrel less than a month ago it’s quite highly carbonated which was a surprise at first. This being a 750ml bottle, that dissipated in time. With ageing that will fall away but this beer deserves to be drank fresh, and so I am! Imagine Titanic Plum Porter, all jammy with damson, elevate it with actual plum, intensify it with a sweet fruit chutney, then double it. You’re then close to how good this beer is!
