BEER: Capablanca BREWERY: Buxton Brewery BEER STYLE: Imperial Porter (Scotch BA) COUNTRY: England ABV.: 11.0% COLOUR (EBC): Black (100.0) BITTERS (EBU/IBU): - AROMA: Malts, some rye from the barrel aging. Mild. HEAD: One finger tall, yellow-ish, leaving with noisy lacing. GREY’S VIEW Scotch Barrel Aged Imperial Porter. First sip. And we have promising piece of beer here. I pick roasted malts, raw and savage like whiskey flavour, some rye and liquorice. Barrel aging feels freshly made and it is robust; I kinda like it. Mouthfeel is swift with sharpeeish carbonation. This is clearly made with daringly roasted malts. Aftertaste has some wet leafiness, but malts overwhelms them quite easily. OTHER NOTES: Buxton Brewery and their barrel series contains 6 different beers. Yeah. I might give few more moments for the others to settle a bit and look what my cellar truly has to offer. CANNED 12/2020 TASTED 2/2021

The 2nd of the Christmas presents from my neighbour. It pours black with a brown head. Aroma is of vanilla and Scotch whiskey. Flavour is of vanilla, Scotch and hints if brown sugar and roasted malts. Slightly sweet.
