Barrel Aged Advent Calendar Day #3 Canned on 10-30-2020 Strawberry and brandy stand out the most in the aroma along with notes of chocolate and vanilla. The bourbon is absent at this point. Taste has brandy, strawberry, bourbon, lighter notes of chocolate and vanilla, with a noticeable, but not distracting, amount of oak coming through in the finish. The oak lingers long after the sip. The body is medium-full with a lower amount of carbonation. I don't remember the oak being so noticeable in past tastings, and the bourbon has definitely gone mostly into hiding. Overall, the beer is still quite tasty. I definitely feel it's past its prime, but not very far past it. If I have 1 left, which I might, I might just pull it and enjoy it sooner rather than later. 4.25/5

Barrel Aged Advent Calendar Day #15 Canned on 10-30-2020 Bourbon and brandy are first in the aroma, followed by strawberry and vanilla. I'm not getting any chocolate at this point. Taste has strawberry, vanilla and light chocolate first, followed by bourbon and light brandy. It seems to have flip flopped from the aroma. The aftertaste has a noticeable strawberry and vanilla presence. The body is medium-full with an appropriately low amount of carbonation. Another year later and the flavors are all still there. Some are a bit muted, but nothing has been totally lost yet. Another great stout. High 4.25/5

Barrel Aged Advent Calendar Day #23 Canned on 10-30-2020 The bourbon and brandy come through first, followed by strawberry, light vanilla and chocolate. Taste has strawberry, chocolate, bourbon, vanilla and brandy in that order. Some oak comes through as it warms. The body is full with an appropriately low amount of carbonation. I'm impressed that all the flavors are still there. The brandy barrel aging adds a little bit of sweetness that makes it more desserty without being overly sweet. Solid stout. High 4.25/5

Side by side review with Bourbon Barrel Aged Neapolitan Milk Stout and Double Dipped Neapolitan Milk Stout. The bourbon barrel aged version is obviously aged in bourbon barrels, while the Double Dipped is aged in bourbon barrels and then aged in brandy barrels. Bourbon: Vanilla, chocolate, strawberry and bourbon in the aroma. Taste has vanilla, chocolate, bourbon and strawberry in that order. I'm pleasantly surprised that I'm getting the strawberry, since the last bottle it only existed in the aroma. The body is medium-full and the carbonation is appropriately low. Double Dipped: Vanilla, strawberry, brandy, chocolate and bourbon in the aroma. Taste has strawberry, vanilla, brandy, chocolate and bourbon in that order. The body is on the higher end of medium-full and the carbonation is appropriately low. They're both great stouts and I can't quite pick a winner due to the age of the bourbon barrel aged version (2 years). I do like the double dipped a lot, but I think the addition of brandy barrel aging mutes some of the flavors of the base beer. The bourbon barrel aged version is great fresh fresh and really complimented the base. For these reasons, I'll pick the bourbon barrel aged version over double dipped. 4.5/5

Backlog from December 12th Aroma is exactly like Neapolitan ice cream. Taste has Neapolitan ice cream as well, with sweet brandy notes and bourbon showing up in the finish. The spirits this was aged with cover the underlying flavors, which is a slight negative. Still delicious. 4.5/5
