New beer in Pint Please
New brewery myself, and a new hop variety: Talus
Canned on: 20.10 2020
Temperature: +9 C
Murky yellow, hazy beer. Soapy head with good retention. But the soapy appearance of the foam is not that appealing: 3,5/5
The aroma is heavy with the grapefruit. Zesty aromas as well and some fruitiness. Not very interesting: 3/5
Mouthfeel is just above medium with a bit sharp feeling carbonation. Low bitterness, not very juicy. The Juicy touch only comes along after the sharpest carbonation has faded. Eventually, the mouthfeel turned out to be just fine: 4/5
Taste is similar to the scent with plenty of sweet grapefruit. More powerful fruity flavors than the scent had. The Taulus hops seemingly give its own, specific juicy taste to the beer: 11/15
First experience with the Taulus hops like I said. Seems to be an interesting hop based on this beer. The taste is more intense than the scent and the heavy grapefruit is balanced nicely with the sweet, juicy fruit flavor. I'm keeping my eye on for the beers using this hop. What comes to this beer: decent Imperial NEIPA especially considering it's a single hop. The taste is getting better when the beer warms up a bit: 15,5/20
