I am here at the Trimtab Brewing Company in Birmingham. Looking forward to supporting a local brewery and trying some of their local brews.
Beermaid poured down the side of a plastic cup. Covid-19 restricts them from using glass. Not much head when poured this way. Dark brown, totally opaque color. Distinct maple and alcohol aroma. Thick and moderately heavy body. Not much carbonation. Alcohol invades the nostrils before I even was able to take a sip. Flavor is extremely sweet with an abundance of maple and alcohol. Not able to detect the walnut that is in the recipe. Finish leaves a profound tingling sensation on the tongue of both the maple and the alcohol which I expected to last longer than it actually did. Lasted four to five seconds and then only a dissipating alcohol.
I don't speak often about lacing but I can't help but notice that this coat's the side of the glass like syrup. No veins, just a solid coat of paint. Did not feel that thick during the tasting.
This is a limited edition brew and not widely distributed in retail outlets. Not much left so I'm going to take a six pack home to share with the family. This is definitely not a one-and-done beer. Worth the trip to come here.
