This medium-bodied lager has a rich golden malt profile with a base of Pilsner Malt balanced perfectly with Munich and Vienna. A light breadiness and a dash of caramel on the front end finish up with a delicate palate of scrubbing effervescence and no lingering bitterness.

Post dating this from my trip to the Gnarly Barley Brewery in Hammond Louisiana on October 21st. Virus restrictions allowed for no on-site consumption, but you are allowed three samples. All three of mine were the Fest Bier, their version of an Oktoberfest.
Orangish red in color with a surprising faint haze. Modest head but it was only served as a sample. Can't pull any aroma from this small cup. Light creamy texture is a good start. Almost no bitterness, just a little sweet caramel on the forefront. Thankfully it has more flavor than most Oktoberfests. Although I'm not getting much of the Marzen flavor. The lasting finish is welcome since it has less bitterness than expected. Pretty good brew for a small brewery.
