Hi-wire Gose 4.2%, Hi-Wire Brewing, United States
1 notes
Hi-wire Gose
4.2% Grodziskie / Gose / Lichtenhainer
Brewed with Pink Himalayan salt, this Gose is tart, supremely drinkable, and balanced with a complex fruit character. Crisp citrus and lemon-lime from coriander marries with our house Lactobacillus strain creating subtle notes of stone fruit and apricot in this sessionable sour wheat beer.

Son-in-law in Houston and I are about out of our Duo beers. He decided we needed to try the beers that we have put back and are afraid to drink. Mine is a gose. I bought this in a pick-a-pack. Packaged on 10/10/2019. Really! Been in the back of my refrigerator ever since. So, what the hell, have no expectations of this being anything but horrible. Almost no head. Aroma has sour notes with a touch of lemon. Almost clear light yellow color. Flavor is not as bad as I was expecting for a beer of this age. Notes of wheat, lemon and straw, all of it is tart. Turns dry on the finish with only the briefest of saltiness. Never got the stone fruit, or the apricot, or the coriander but what can you expect from a three and a half year old beer. Was it great? No. But wasn't bad either. I need to try to find a fresh can and see what it has to offer.
