Beer 3/4. Limpid copper beer with a silky dense head that colors off-white and surpasses one finger. A beautiful lacing adorns the surface for long. Cocoa nibs are fairly abundant in the air. Milk chocolate is the impression I'm getting. The flavor package contains hefty cacao nibs and milk chocolate. They merge with dried apricot, caramel malt and biscuit. Unique. The body is medium. The finish tweaks in a modestly more bitter direction, like raw chocolate, and releases also dry piney hops and a suggestion of caramel. The mouthfeel is spiced, floral, lip-glueing and distantly candy-like.

Das Finale der "giro di aromi" im Doppio Malto Cagliari und damit die letzte Verkostung des Abends ist das Cocoa IPA. Gebraut wurde es mit brasilianischen Kakaobohnen. Es hat eine hellgelbe Färbung. Der Geruch ist leider nicht wie zu erwarten war von Kakao geprägt, sondern recht hefig. Auch geschmacklich dominiert eine stark hefige Note, der Kakao ist leider nicht zu schmecken. Insgesamt wirkt das ganze sehr schmal. Obgleich die namensgebende Kakaonote nicht zu schmecken ist, ist der hefige Touch doch recht gefällig.
