At 'L'Or Noir' we quickly think of the black gold of our mining past. This fresh, soft triple is brewed with 4 different grains and 50% Belgian hop varieties. The beer turns a beautiful golden yellow in the glass and has a strong foam head. Kompel L'Or Noir has refermentation in the bottle, so that the beer is better protected and develops a more complex character.

🌿🌞🇫🇮🍻 Building a dock on my beach, now a late lunch with a beer.
The beer appears as lucid gold. The carbonation is brave when a clean white, fluffy head reaches two fingers. Surprisingly long retention. Still a while later, I can observe a thick dense layer protecting the top. Creamy lacings on the glass.
Sweet-leaning scent. Goes with the style. Sweet malt, biscuit and candi sugar are the key components here. Normally I don't fancy candi sugar but it behaves in a balanced way here. Additionally, faint Belgian yeast pops up occasionally.
Candi sugar is obvious also on the tongue. It creates a sweet biscuity, modestly waffley impression where the malt plays a minor role only. A whisper of caramel, apricot, marginal banana and a decent injection of Belgian yeast complete the cocktail.
The body is medium or medium minus. It could be bigger at 8.2 % but, I guess, Tripels seldom flex a robust maltbody. Black gold in a white plight; won't you fill up the tank; let's go for a ride; sure like to feel some pride, and the aftertaste just makes me feel happy inside.
The mouthfeel is medium, soft, smooth, frothy, Belgiany and modestly lip-glueing. A very balanced and dangerously easy gulper.
