Inspired by the duality of mankind, the opposing natures of light and dark, our Lock & Hoppes brings together these two competing existential states in perfect balance. At first look, it appears forebodingly dark but hold it up to the light and softer shades are suddenly revealed as if exposing the true goodness of its inner soul. Okay, enough with the philosophical mumbo jumbo. This brew is a strong ale and definitely made for long and slow sipping, so take your time to enjoy the full richness and complexity of its character. You'll be generously rewarded with hints of toffee, caramel and chocolate, intermingled with spice and fruit notes. Aged with American Oak spirals, it finishes with a lingering oaky flavour, reminiscent of single cask whiskey. It just might inspire you to deeply ponder the conflicting and eternal elements of light and dark, or something like that.
